Entrance Exams!

I wrote a poem on my poetry blog about entrance examinations for universities! I hope you like it! 😀

Given the board exams,
our brains, the human RAMs.
Finally the results are out
it’s time to scream and shout
with joy and laughter
the school is over, the close of a chapter.

Now we plan for university
career plans have a diversity.

The admission process is not so easy
entrance exams, not so breezy.
Competition overloaded
young minds hard at work.

But Alas! You did not do that right
A negative mark and the goal drifts from your sight.
Parents are worried, children are sad;
“What is going to happen to our young lad?”.

Soon these children will move away
To a city afar, a different day.
They are self built with care and love.
I can assure you now,
these gems will change the world!

I hope you liked this short self composed poem!
See you next time

The Art Of Letting Go

“Reason lost the battle, and all I could do was surrender and accept I was in love.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Witch Of Portobello

I recently went to watch an amazing movie by the name of ‘Life Of Pi’! I am at a loss of words to describe the beauty that a boy in a boat and a tiger created. A magic that was way beyond  human emotion. It touched my heart and defined to me the meaning of surrender. Inspired by the movie, I have written a poem. I hope you like it!

The world is like diamond,
the magical shade of carbon
The fairy dust sparkled upon us
like we are the wings of God.
There is beauty in words
that come from the heart
Magic in the wind
is like the blossoming of a flower.
There is truth when you realize
that we are a part of a whole
A part of mystery and creation
A part of love that soars.
We are the nature and…

This is probably one of the best poems I have ever written, and it recently got published in a magazine!!! I hope you like it 😀

A new silence has been found
with that, comes a new sound
Dawned upon you is the life of possibility
and the world is not short of amiability
We all are rocking in the same boat
trying hard to stay afloat
But this journey can be fun
when you let yourself shine
under the golden Sun
Leaving footprints in the sand
walking together hand in hand
There is not a doubt
of rain from this glistening cloud
And when it pours
we will always find an open door
A helping hand to get us through
make us better and brand new
We must learn to return the favour
by passing it to another who needs to add flavour
In our lives we must learn
that giving can also be fun
It is when we give from our heart
can we instill a beautiful fresh start
For you and for me

Feeling Crowded (Poem)

“I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion”
– Henry David Thoreau

I walked into an empty room
a water bottle and pen in hand.
Soon another entered this room
grumpy faced, angry-looking
personally, I wanted space.

She sat there on a chair,
far across the room,
farther away from me
minding her own business.
Yet, it felt too clingy
I needed space.

I wanted to cry,
I wanted to scream
to tear down the walls.
It seemed like everything I wanted
was space.

I ran out then in a room next door,
happy faces smiling away
I felt so welcome
among the forty-seven in this place
I learn it now
it is the people who create a space!

I wanted to just share what I felt a few days back and realised that maybe, so many others feel the same. My advice: Always keep good company. Make sure the individuals you are friends with are those that make you feel happy and give you space 🙂

See you soon

I said (short poem)

When you say things, and when you hear them back, you realise that some when said were not what were meant at the time. And others, mean even more, despite being unsaid…

I said I went overboard
It seemed like a good decision at the time
My fleeting heart roared
But that decision costed me a dime

I said I was too serious
I thought it was just me at the time
But there were a million more
That did not fit this perfect rhyme.

I said I was sorry
That my heart could not be blamed
I fell too deep in love
The love that couldn’t be tamed.

I said now let me go
But you stood there, in the way
Then you should have said what you had to say
Instead, you ran away.

I hope you liked it and I will see you next time! 🙂

I wish it was easy (A Poem)

A new poem about love, life, relationships and moving on is up on my poetry/writings blog. I hope you like it 🙂

A little poem about life, relationships and moving on….

I wish it was easy
to push you away, far away,
to get lost beyond repair
to slowly fade away.

I wish it was easy,
for my heart to understand,
that hurt, cheat and betrayal,
could shut off the live.

I wish it was easy
to drown in the tears,
to just flip a switch,
to turn off the love.

I wish it was easy,
to let go of your heart,
as easily as I let your hand slip away
with nothing more than a glance.

I wish it was easy,
to get over you,
to believe that it was true,
that I was nothing in your heart.

But by the was you looked,
by the way your fingers entangled with mine,
you made it all the more difficult,
to let you go….

Consider this part 2 of my old…

Topsy turvy sisters (A Poem)

Hey everyone!

I was going through my old notebooks and papers the other day. In that, I found a four/five year old exam paper. On the back of it I had written a poem for my best friend Muskaan. It’s quiet hilarious and slightly weird, but it’s cute and I thought I’d share it on here!

A story with a song,
which starts with a ding dang dong.
Well, if this makes you laugh out loud,
that’s what we do sitting on the couch.
Studies can finish in minutes,
and with us, boys make digits.
Don’t be shocked! We’re young teenagers
and up for well, we don’t have interest in power rangers.
Love is the recent chapter of our books,
Muskaan and Srishti, yeah that’s the look.
We’re topsy turvy sisters,
Once again,we talk about each other’s misters,
We’re topsy turvy friends,
having topsy turvy trends,
In a topsy turvy world,
We’re a case to unfurl!

I cringe every time I read it. We were so stupid back then. But I love you Muskaan, you’re my best friend and someone I can always count on! 🙂

See you next time,
Srish. Xx
